Wind farm management and maintenance

Gamesa’s wind farm development and sale unit takes care of, in a coordinated manner, all the technical and administrative work required to run a wind farm once it has started to operate.

The company’s technical specialists are tasked with supervising any work performed under the umbrella of the O&M contracts in force, also overseeing ad-hoc work, with the aim of:

  • maximising facility output and revenue by ensuring the facility is available as often as possiblestallations;
  • guaranteeing that the facility will run on optimal conditions for at least 20 years;
  • updating the facilities as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance with prevailing technical specifications or new regulations with economic or technical ramifications.

The administrative management function handles all the bureaucracy required to comply continuously with the requirements imposed by the municipal and regional authorities and also by the facility owners, as well as any requirements inherent to the business activity of the company that owns the site, including any pertinent consents.

Wind farm sales

Gamesa has established itself as one of the main independent developers of wind farms, and the sale of wind farms has emerged as a recurring business line.

The management approach pursued by Gamesa’s wind farm development and sale unit is designed to maximise the value of its wind farms, prioritising its activities as function of pipeline visibility and returns and concentrating on profitable markets.

Throughout its history, the company has developed proprietary wind farms with aggregate capacity of more than 3,500 MW and currently boasts a pipeline of over 22,000 MW at varying stages of development in Europe, America and Asia.
