WindEurope 2019

Welcome to the wind event of the year – in our hometown

Spain is a huge player in wind energy. As one of the biggest producers worldwide, the country has national plans to build more than 4 GW of onshore wind by 2020, and 2.5 GW a year up to 2030. The wind supply chain employs 22,000 people, and Bilbao is a key hub – last but not least the Siemens Gamesa homebase! So it is the perfect place for the 2019 WindEurope Conference & Exhibition.

More than 8.000 wind industry insiders will attend, which makes this event a great networking opptortunity. More than 500 presentations by top experts from all around the globe invite all attendees to expand their knowledge base.

What’s more, the WindEurope will be the ideal occasion for the 400 exhibitors to solidify a vision for the future of this rapidly expanding sector. We will be happy to welcome you at our booth in hall 1 number E40. On 200 square meters, our experts present our onshore and offshore portfolio as well as our broad range of services. Join us and experience our turbines in a new way – thanks to our special virtual reality offering.

At Siemens Gamesa, we are determined to play a leading role in addressing our planet’s energy needs by providing people and communities worldwide with clean, affordable and reliable renewable power. At the same time, we have a deep commitment to improving the communities in which we operate by creating jobs and growth, protecting our natural environment, and improving people’s quality of life.

The energy challenge

How do you envision tomorrow?
There is no doubt that the world needs a new direction in energy: In the 2018 World Energy Outlook, rising incomes and an extra 1.7 billion people push up global energy demand by more than a quarter to 2040. With renewables developing rapidly and competing in a global market, we don’t lack the innovation needed to support this change in a climate-friendly way. But we, at Siemens Gamesa, believe that it takes more: a collective journey, driving the transitions towards a sustainable world.

Driving the transition

In Bilbao, we invite you to dive deeper into our products and solutions.

Wind energy like you’ve never seen it before

We understand that the big data era is ushering in the age of the customer. Thus, we are committed to turn each bit of data gained into powerful insights for smarter wind power. In our diagnostic centers, we gather data from around six million sensors in wind power plants worldwide.

From this data, diagnostic experts derive over 1.5 million individual digital models to detect around 250.000 deviations per year and identify potential faults. Algorithms filter out the costly false-positives and insignificant deviations. In turn, wind turbines need less maintenance and can generate higher yield with a significant impact on the levelized cost of energy.

Thanks to continious monitoring, detailed analytics and model-based trouble shooting advice, wind turbine owners get the best out of their assets. At Siemens Gamesa, we believe in the power of digitalization and its opportunities for a sustainable future. At WindEurope 2019, we present you some of our solutions driving the digital transformation of renewable energy.
