For Alizé, work has always been more than just a job—it’s where she’s grown personally and professionally. After spending years drafting construction contracts for a new factory in Le Havre that created over 1,000 jobs, she counts its opening among her proudest career moments. But what surprised her most was how her workplace helped shape her personal life too.
“This company was the first place where I openly said, ‘I went to England with my partner—she.’ In French, you have to be gender-specific. You can’t avoid it,” she explains. “But no one batted an eye. People were happy for me. That gave me the confidence to live fully and authentically, not just at work—but everywhere.”
Alizé describes herself as someone who came into her identity later in life. “I thought I wasn’t meant for love,” she says. “But then I realized I’d been in love with the same woman for 15 years. I had just never let myself believe it could be possible.” Now, she’s planning her wedding for next year.
