A Safe Working Environment
Ten years ago, Esben was working as a carpenter and was starting to feel the impact of years of hard physical work on his body. Seeking a career shift, two friends recommended Siemens Gamesa to him. He applied and didn’t hesitate when he was offered the job as an operator in the nacelle assembly plant.
“Safety is priority number one here, and I know from previous jobs that that is not a matter of course. Knowing that I can work safely makes me feel valued and gives me job satisfaction,” says Esben. This commitment to safety is a cornerstone of Siemens Gamesa's operational philosophy, ensuring that every employee can perform their duties without compromising their well-being.
Teamwork at Its Best
Esben’s daily job is to mount stator plates on a fixed axle, but over his 10 years of employment, he has carried out many different tasks in the plant. What motivates him the most is when new ways of working need to be developed and tried out in practice, requiring innovative thinking as well as experience.
Esben speaks highly of his leaders and peers in the factory, explaining that the working environment is very supportive, and that people genuinely care about each other. “We keep an eye on each other and are ready to listen and support if a colleague goes through a tough time or has a difficult day. We are a team, and it is important that everyone thrives so we can deliver what we have promised. We take ownership as a team and personally, for delivering according to plans but also for each other’s well-being. This is something I value highly, and I think many others do too as we are many who have worked here for many years.”
