For the second year in a row, Siemens Gamesa has been included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) 2021 as one of 380 companies from eleven sectors. This is a testament to the company's efforts to expand the disclosure of gender metrics in environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting in recent years, resulting in greater transparency and a wider range of data for investors.
The GEI is a benchmark index that measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay equity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and women-friendly brand. Its comprehensive and transparent assessment methodology allows investors to evaluate company performance and compare it to other companies in the industry. Siemens Gamesa was included in the index this year because the company met or exceeded a threshold set by Bloomberg that reflects a high level of disclosure and overall performance across the five pillars of the framework.
"Diversity is critical to our future success and we are pleased to see our efforts and transparency recognized. We are raising the bar and expect other companies in our industry to follow suit," said Marta Jimeno, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Siemens Gamesa.
